Lakers News: Watch Cam Thomas, Austin Reaves’ Combined 3-Point Barrage

Bucket for bucket.

Monday night marked the preseason debut of Austin Reaves ahead of an exciting 2023-24 season for your Los Angeles Lakers.

The former Sooner had a great game in the Lakers win that included an impressive shooting showing against promising Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas.

Both players went on massive heat checks in the middle of the third quarter after two threes each in just over a minute of action.

Thomas started the scoring outburst and Reaves countered with a dueling three of his own.

Brooklyn's young guard came right back but the former Sooner proved up to the task once more in another exchange of deep-range bombs.

Thomas wasn't finished after a third swish from long range that ultimately ended the sequence after Reaves got fouled in what was a great show in the exhibition.

LA's new $54 million man finished the game with 18 points on great shooting splits after an impressive showing at the FIBA World Cup for Team USA this summer.

Arkansas' own now turns his attention to the regular season after he and teammate LeBron James both showed out in their collective preseason debuts in Las Vegas. The Lakers won, 129-126.

James came straight from Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Sunday afternoon to suit up Monday in the Sin City in what proved to be a successful trip for the veteran to kick off year 21.

LA might have fallen short of their ultimate goals in 2023 but opening night in just a few weeks should prove a great test to this year's championship pursuit.

The Lakers take on the Nuggets on their ring night as James, Reaves and the rest of the team hope to spoil the crowning achievement for an emerging rival of purple and gold.
