The NBA shells out exorbitant amounts of money each season to its players. These salaries have continued to increase each year, and it’s a testament to the popularity of the league itself.

The addition of max salaries and super-max contracts have helped in the overall rise in money that players earn. After all, they are the products that fans are paying to see, so it makes all the sense in the world to pay them what they are worth.

“Many of the NBA’s highest-paid players are on contracts considered maximum-salary deals, but the 2023/24 salaries for those players vary significantly depending on when the player signed his contract and how much NBA experience he has.”

Per Luke Adams of Hoop Rumors

Entering the 2023-2024 NBA season, two members of your Los Angeles Lakers made the cut on the list of the top 50 highest-paid players for next season. Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors put the list together, and the LA All-Star duo both came in the top 15.

Lakers All-NBA small forward LeBron James' $47,607,350 salary ranks him in third place this year. He's tied with the two winners of the last three MVP awards, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. LA center Anthony Davis ($40,600,080) landed right at number 15, just above guys like Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks ($40,064,220).

Both players deserve to be compensated toward the top of the league, because of what they bring each night. They allow the Lakers a chance to win each game, and having them on the roster draws in fans.

As the years go on, the salaries are going to increase even more. We are living in an age where player empowerment is in full swing, so if one team isn't willing to shell out a certain amount, someone else will certainly do so.
