Why Pundit Believes Lakers May Have Strongest Depth At This Position In NBA

A solid group forming in LA this offseason.

Boasting one of the most talented at the position, the Lakers have to be pleased with their group in the frontcourt after another offseason of good signings from Rob Pelinka in their rotation.

Fully ready with plenty of depth at the power forward position, one analyst implied that the purple and gold may have the best group in the league ahead of another team out east.

"If Anthony Davis is going to be starting more games next to a true center, then, outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Bucks, I can’t consider any team’s power forward position better than what the Lakers have. Davis and Rui Hachimura have a lot to prove from a consistency standpoint over the course of a full season, but the presence of both players is slightly better than the presence of All-NBA power forward Julius Randle and Josh Hart, a player whom I expect to play more power forward than last season after taking a look at New York’s depth chart this offseason."

Though former Laker Julius Randle has blossomed in his time with the Knicks, Hart's addition at the trade deadline from Portland to New York was a key factor in the team winning a playoff series against the Cavs and taking the eventual conference champs from Miami to six games.

Davis and Hachimura had their own great playoff run with the former as an established star who displayed his defensive dominance all postseason long and the latter being a surprise playoff riser that earned a new contract with his new team similar to Hart's situation at Madison Square Garden.

We know who we would take for the most depth at the position as Davis' role either at the 4 or the 5 will be clear indications for the Lakers' title hopes in 2024.
