As we get set for the new NBA season here soon, the Los Angeles Lakers will enter as one of the favorites to win the NBA Finals. This offseason has seen the Lakers improve their roster, while also keeping the continuity from the team that went to the Western Conference Finals.

LA brought in some guys to help with the weaknesses of last season, and the hope is that they can get back to the same spot, but this time finish the job. They will be one of the better teams in the Western Conference if they can remain healthy, and they should pose some real problems for opposing teams.

Most people in the industry have praised the Lakers offseason, and you can include ESPN NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith to the list. Smith praised LA on their offseason recently, and he seems very excited for the year to begin.

“I think…LA is going to be a destination spot this season.”

Per Stephen A. Smith

Smith has long been one of the biggest names in the NBA industry, so his excitement is justified. He will likely be attending games throughout the season, as he has talked at length about his love for the city of Los Angeles.

General Manager Rob Pelinka has earned the respect of fans with how he has put together this offseason, and this could finally be the year that he gets his flowers. He has given them a legitimate chance to win the NBA Finals this season with the moves made, and the excitement surrounding this team is real.

The flexibility that the Lakers roster will have this season is going to make head coach Darvin Ham’s life so much easier. He can mix and match the players at his disposal, depending on who they will be playing, and how they can take advantage of any given matchup.

The Lakers will be going for banner No. 18 this season, and the expectations are there this season. Lakers basketball is just around the corner, and it’s going to be a fun season!
