Jett Howard Hopes to 'Fit Like a Glove' for Magic

The Orlando Magic hopes No. 11 pick Jett Howard can fill a huge need for the team.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is excited about filling a need in the NBA Draft, selecting Michigan guard Jett Howard with the No. 11 pick.

Howard believes that his skillset is in line with a lot of what the Magic needs in its rotation.

"Honestly, I feel like I'll fit in like a glove with my ability to space the floor and make open shots. I've always been able to play with other good players throughout high school and college, so I think I'll fit in really well with them," Howard said.

Howard averaged 14.2 points per game at Michigan this past season while shooting 36.8 percent from beyond the three-point line. The only rotation player to shoot at a higher clip than Howard's last season was Gary Harris, who made 43.1 percent of his threes.

As a team, Orlando shot 47 percent from the field last season, good for 20th in the NBA. From beyond the three-point line, the Magic shot just 34.7 percent, which ranked them 24th in the league.

If Howard can be the three-point threat Orlando needs him to be, it will elevate the team's ceiling and make the Magic one of the more dangerous teams in the Eastern Conference.
