Clippers PG Russell Westbrook to Magic? Betting Odds Say ...

The Orlando Magic could be in the running to sign nine-time All-Star Russell Westbrook in free agency this summer.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic has some decisions to make going into free agency this offseason.

With more cap space than most teams in the league, the Magic can lure a top free agent to Orlando, including Los Angeles Clippers point guard Russell Westbrook.

Bookies.com created hypothetical odds for Westbrook's next team and apart from a return to the Clippers (+400), the Magic is the next likeliest franchise to sign the future Hall-of-Famer at +450.

This past season for the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers, Westbrook averaged 15.9 points, his lowest total since his rookie season back in 2008-09. However, he was still able to average 7.5 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game throughout the season, a sign that he isn't calling it quits anytime soon.

While the idea sounds nice in theory to add a nine-time All-Star to the Magic roster, Orlando isn't a likely destination for Westbrook. The Magic already employs Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs and Gary Harris in the backcourt. Not to mention, Orlando could look to add another guard with one of its two potential lottery picks in the draft. The Magic has shown a commitment to all of those players on the roster, meaning it wouldn't be plausible to add another player seeking minutes in free agency like Westbrook.
