ORLANDO - A former member of the Orlando Magic is hitting the sidelines.

According to The Athletic, Los Angeles Lakers center Mo Bamba will sit out for four weeks after spraining his left ankle.

The injury will keep Bamba out of the game against his former team when the Magic visits the Lakers at crypto.com Arena on Mar. 19.

In seven games with the Lakers, Bamba averaged just 4.4 points per game while shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the three-point line.

Bamba was beginning to carve out a role with the Lakers in March, even grabbing a start in the team's Mar. 1 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The injury will hold Bamba out until the end of the season on Apr. 9, but the former Magic big man could play for the Lakers in the postseason if Los Angeles can qualify.

As of now, the Lakers are occupying the No. 9 spot in the Western Conference standings, one game ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers, who are the first team on the outside looking in. But with LeBron James also out for the foreseeable future, the Lakers' challenge to get back to the playoffs just got a tiny bit more difficult.
