NBA Free Agency: Magic Interested in 'Two-Way Threat' Gary Trent Jr.?

The Orlando Magic could look to sign Toronto Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. in free agency.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is due for some change in the coming weeks with the NBA Draft and start of free agency.

Considering Orlando ranks among the top teams in terms of cap space, the Magic can acquire big names who warrant hefty price tags in free agency this summer.

Among the players that would fit the roster that could make sense for Orlando financially is Toronto Raptors shooting guard Gary Trent Jr.

"Trent is a two-way threat who provides floor-spacing and shot making both in and outside the arc," Bleacher Report writes.

Trent Jr., 24, averaged 17.4 points last season and has shot 38.4 percent from beyond the three-point line throughout his five-year career with the Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers.

The Magic's interest in Trent could be determined based on its decision with Gary Harris in free agency. Harris is set to make $13 million this upcoming season, but none of that money is guaranteed ... yet.

The money on his deal becomes guaranteed on June 29, days before the start of free agency. The Magic would have to cut him before free agency without knowing if the team will sign a replacement. That's why it would be expected for the Magic to keep Harris and guarantee his contract.

However, if Orlando parts ways with Harris, either by waiving or trading him, Trent could be an option for the Magic to sign.
