NBA Free Agency: Magic Big Man Moe Wagner to Nets?

The Brooklyn Nets could have interest in signing Orlando Magic center Moe Wagner in free agency this summer.
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic doesn't have too many in-house free agents to re-sign this summer. The only player without a contract for next season with the team that played consistent minutes throughout the year is backup big man Moe Wagner.

Wagner, 26, would love to stay with the Magic, but he could get other (and better) opportunities to contribute elsewhere.

Bleacher Report identified Wagner as an option for the Brooklyn Nets in free agency.

"Brooklyn needs to find a backup center, preferably one who can clean the glass after the Nets finished next-to-last in rebounding this past season (47.2 total rebound percentage)," Bleacher Report writes.

Wagner primarily came off the bench for the Magic, but made some spot starts throughout the season, especially when Wendell Carter Jr. was hurt. As a starter, Wagner averaged 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds.

Wagner is a serviceable backup big man in the NBA, and he brings a ton of energy regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench. His defense, especially in the post, is Wagner's biggest weakness, but his offense balances it out somewhat. If the Magic can't find a big man to replace Wagner in the draft or free agency, it could be in Orlando's best interest to have him back in central Florida for another go.
