NBA Free Agency: Should Magic Sign Kings SG Terence Davis?

ORLANDO - The Sacramento Kings are starting their offseason after losing in Game 7 to Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.

Game 7 also marked potentially the final game of shooting guard Terence Davis' Kings tenure as the four-year veteran faces free agency this summer.

Davis scored 14 points and made four three-pointers in the Kings' loss on Sunday and could make an impact for a team that needs to improve its long-distance shooting. Perhaps the Orlando Magic is a fit for his services?

Davis played in 64 games for the Kings this season and saw his three-point percentage improve to 36.6 percent. However, he only averaged 6.7 points per game after his role was diminished following the acquisitions of Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk. His minutes per game decreased from 17.9 in 2021-22 to just 13.1 this past season. This means Davis could look for a new home that could give him more playing time, but the jury's still out on whether the Magic could offer that.

Orlando already has a crowded guard rotation with Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris and Jalen Suggs. Not to mention, there's a decent chance the Magic could use one of its two potential lottery picks on a guard.

The Magic will likely address adding some three-point shooting at some point during the offseason after finishing 24th in the league in the category with a 34.6 percent clip. And if the draft comes and goes without adding another shooting guard, Davis could be an option for the Magic in free agency.
