NBA Free Agency: Suns' Grayson Allen to Magic?

Grayson Allen is among the league's top 3-point shooters. Could the Orlando Magic sign him in free agency?

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic will have their eyes on long-distance shooters in this summer's free agency market.

Among the players they could look to sign is Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen, who leads the NBA in 3-point shooting at 47.4 percent.

Bleacher Report suggests the Magic could empty their pocketbooks to sign Allen this summer.

"Another top target could be Grayson Allen, with the Magic potentially outspending what the Phoenix Suns are willing to do with their already massive payroll," Bleacher Report writes.

Allen, 28, is averaging a career-best 13 points per game, and nearly all of his statistical categories have seen an increase.

The Magic would be a very good fit for Allen, especially considering they are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to shooting the ball from downtown.

Orlando shoots just 35.1 percent from downtown, good for 26th in the NBA. Only the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies make fewer looks from beyond the arc, and all of those teams are currently bound for the lottery.

If the Magic want to make the jump from playoff participant to contender, adding a player of Allen's caliber may not instantly turn them into one, but it will make the jump a little less far.

The Magic are back in action tomorrow night when they visit the Toronto Raptors. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
