NBA Mock Draft: Magic Selects 3-And-D Wing

The Orlando Magic won't have as high of a pick in this year's NBA Draft as it has had the past couple of years, but that does not mean the team couldn't continue to add to its solid young core.

The Orlando Magic has one of the youngest rosters in the entire NBA, as the team has been built through some solid draft picks. And even though the team won't have as high of a pick as it has the last couple of seasons, many stars have been found later in the draft.

Bobi Klintman

In a recent mock draft by Bleacher Report, they predicted who each team would take, and they compared each player to current or former NBA players. With the No. 23 pick, Bleacher Report has the Magic taking Bobi Klintman from the Cairns Taipans of Australia's National Basketball League.

Klintman played one season at Wake Forest before he left to go overseas to continue his career. The main thing that NBA teams are interested in Klintman for is his size and versatility on both sides of the ball. Despite his numbers not being there quite yet, it may not come as a result of him playing poorly, but his role with his current team.

"Bobi Klintman trades productive weeks with quiet ones, which is partly due to a strict, off-ball role that calls for spotting up and cutting," writes Bleacher Report. "A lack of consistent touches and shots means scouts putting more stock into the flashes. He's hit 20 threes in 17 games while showing some comfort level attacking closeouts and scoring on the move in the lane."

As for Klintman's NBA comparison, he shows flashes of a solid 3-and-D wing like De'Andre Hunter. Hunter's numbers so far in his career haven't jumped off the page, but he is as consistent of a wing defender as there is in the league. If Klintman could be even near as consistent as Hunter has been, the Magic could have the opportunity to draft yet another key piece for its young core.
