NBA Power Rankings: Where Are Magic After Trade Deadline?

The Orlando Magic did not acquire anyone at the trade deadline. Where does that put them in this week's power rankings?
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic are back in the top six in the Eastern Conference standings, but there is still some doubts about the team as a whole.

Despite their winning record over the past week, the Magic dropped five spots in CBS Sports' latest power rankings. After clocking in at No. 12 last week, the team is now at No. 17.

"It was a 2-1 week for the Magic, who were led by 28 points, six rebounds and five assists per game from Franz Wagner on 39% 3-point shooting," CBS Sports writes. "Orlando has moved into the No. 6 seed, an important spot as it avoids the Play-In Tournament."

The drop in the rankings may have had to do with several Western Conference teams rising like the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks, but the No. 17 ranking is odd for a team that is currently ahead of the Play-In Tournament.

The Magic have two home games before the All-Star Break against teams ahead of them in the power rankings which gives Orlando an opportunity to truly make a leap. The team hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight before welcoming the New York Knicks tomorrow.
