What's The Key to Orlando Magic's Success This Season?

Heading into this season of optimism, the Orlando Magic is looking to avoid previous mistakes that it made last season.

The Orlando Magic finished 13th in the Eastern Conference this past season and only missed the play-in by a handful of games, as the team finished the year strong. 

So if the team finished the season strong, why was it not able to at least make the play-in? You have to look back to the beginning of the season to see the reason why the Magic was not able to make the playoffs.

The Magic started the season going 5-20 in their first 25 games. As a result, the team created a hole for itself that was too hard to dig out of. So even though there were many improvements made over the course of the season, it was already too late.

This season, the key to the Magic's success is going to be getting off to a strong start in the regular season, because if the team can do that, it will have a much better chance of making the playoffs. 

“I think it’s very important for our guys to come out the right way,” Mosley said. “But it goes into the mindset of walking into every single game. I think it was a great way for the preseason to go that we didn’t ease into games. You start off the right way, you start off with a high level of energy and enthusiasm for how we want to play. And that’s going to carry over into the season.” 

The Magic will get its first chance to start off the season right on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from the Amway Center.
