Orlando Magic PG Markelle Fultz Isn't Changing Approach vs. Los Angeles Lakers

As scary as the Los Angeles Lakers could be this season, Markelle Fultz says that the Magic do not take different approaches when it comes to stronger opponents.
In this story:

The Orlando Magic has gotten off to the best possible start that it could this season, as the team is 2-0 and has looked very good in its wins.

After opening the season at home, the Magic played the first of four consecutive road games on Friday against the new-look Portland Trail Blazers. And while the team didn't absolutely dominate like it did on opening night, good performances were had all around, both from the starters and the bench.

Now, in their next game, the Magic will be playing against by far the best opponent that it has faced so far this season in the Los Angeles Lakers. As much as you have to prepare for guys like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Magic don't 'flip a switch' when preparing for teams like the Lakers. Markelle Fultz talked more about this in an interview during Magic practice on Sunday.

"I think that every opponent is the same," said Fultz. "We look at it as we're just going out there and doing what we need to do. Obviously hey have great players over there, but we're going in there focusing on our game plan and what we need to do. We're taking it one game at a time, just trying to go out there and compete and prove a point. To prove that we're a team to be talked about."

With all of that being said, the Lakers are absolutely no slouch, and it will be a very good test for this young Magic team. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET from Crypto.com Arena.
