The Orlando Magic is looking to make a push in the second half of the season to rise in the Eastern Conference standings, and its bench could be the key.

The second unit of the Magic was key in the team's last win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the players know it. Point guard and bench unit leader Cole Anthony talked about how much of an impact he believes the bench can have in a recent interview.

"We believe that we can be the best second unit in the NBA," Anthony said. "It’s been a lot of ups and downs this season but I still don’t think we started playing our best basketball — this second unit."

In the 116-109 win against the Cavs on Thursday, the Magic benched outscored the starters 63-53. This came as a result of a 22-point game from center Moritz Wagner, his second highest scoring game this year.

'Every Game Counts': Magic's Mentality to Close Out the Season

The Magic bench ranks fourth in the league in points, scoring an impressive 42 points per game. If Anthony is right in saying that the second unit has not played its best basketball yet this season, then the Magic could in very good position to make a push late in the season to rise in the standings before the postseason.

Anthony and the rest of the Magic will be back in action on Saturday against Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET in Little Caesars Arena.
