Orlando Magic Coach Jamahl Mosley Slams 3-Point Shooting vs. Dallas Mavericks: 'You Have to Make Shots!'

"You have to make shots," Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said after losing to the Dallas Mavericks.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is disappointed after a 117-102 loss on Monday night to the Dallas Mavericks at home.

After starting the game off making six of its first nine shots from beyond the arc, the Magic went cold, making just one of its 16 attempts from 3-point land in the second half ... arguably the biggest reason why the team surrendered a 15-point lead.

However, the team's poor offensive showing in the second half had Orlando's momentum bleed into the defense.

"You have to make shots," coach Jamahl Mosley said. "Give Dallas credit, they mix it up, they changed the defense up. We the ball got stagnant a little bit but we got good looks. We got a lot of good looks in that run and they don't go in. We just cannot allow it to deflate our defense."

The Magic sorely missed Gary Harris, who has missed the last two games with a groin injury. His presence out there could have potentially given the Magic a spark in that area. Defensively, the team clamored for Wendell Carter Jr. and Jonathan Isaac, who were also out with injuries.

The Magic may not have been able to field its best lineup against the Mavs, but it's another example of how unfair life can be in the NBA. Regardless of who's available, the team has to have its players ready, and Orlando wasn't as ready as it could have been against Dallas.

The Magic will look to bounce back Thursday when it faces the Atlanta Hawks in Mexico City. Tipoff is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
