Orlando Magic Coach Jamahl Mosley Offers Simple Message Before Cleveland Cavaliers Rematch
When the Orlando Magic played against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, the team shot an abysmal 8.7 percent from beyond the arc.
Now, as the Magic prepares for a rematch against the Cavaliers, head coach Jamahl Mosley has some advice for his team ahead of the game.
"Don't shoot 2 for 23 [from 3-point], don't miss 10 free throws and defensive rebound," Mosley said.
Orlando had a true shooting of 55.4 percent in the loss to Cleveland, largely due to the extremely poor shooting from three. The pair of 3-pointers that the Magic made in the game was the lowest total they've had all season, with the previous low being seven made threes which they've done twice.
Paolo Banchero and Cole Anthony each made one three and were the only players to hit a shot from outside the arc for Orlando. Banchero had a career night despite the loss, dropping 42 points on 16 of 26 shooting along with six rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
The 42 points that Banchero had are the most that the sophomore forward has ever scored in a game in his career.
Franz Wagner struggled the most offensively against the Cavaliers, going 3 for 16 and 0 for 5 from deep for a total of just 14 points. He did add in nine assists, six rebounds and three steals, but his poor shooting contributed to the 121-111 loss.
