Magic Coach Jamahl Mosley Shares Kobe Bryant Message to Team

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was the subject of a lesson coach Jamahl Mosley taught to the rising Orlando Magic.
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic are on pace for their best season since the Dwight Howard era.

In 2009, Howard led the Magic to the NBA Finals against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, where the team lost in five games. After Game 2 of that series, Kobe had one of his most famous media interviews where a reporter asked him how happy he was going up 2-0.

Coach Jamahl Mosley revealed on The Rich Eisen Show that he shared the clip with the Magic recently in order to try and have his team adopt a similar mentality.

“It's the mentality of 'You haven't accomplished anything yet. What have we done?' Trying to make our guys understand that is very important," Mosley said on The Rich Eisen Show. "And it keeps you humble enough to know that there’s still room to grow, to get better.”

Mosley is right. The Magic haven't accomplished anything yet except a winning record in the regular season. They have still yet to see a playoff game together, let alone win one. On top of that, the team sits in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with opportunities to move up the standings in the last month of the season.

Wagner, Banchero Expected to 'Lead the Charge' for Magic as Playoffs Near

The Magic have always been under the idea that there is always room to grow, but now that the team is getting a taste of success for the first time, it's important to stay grounded through this first chance at making some noise in the postseason.
