Osceola Magic Defeats Memphis Hustle
The Osceola Magic (6-3) won at home versus the Memphis Hustle (3-7) in a 115-98 blowout to keep the team undefeated at home and 6-1 in the team’s last seven contests.
Entering this game, the Magic were without first No. 11 pick Jett Howard and high-scoring veteran Brandon Williams, but ultimately the team’s depth overcame its injuries.
Osceola got off to a fast start and held a 20-point lead over the Memphis Hustle after the first quarter, thanks in large part to the scoring contributions of forward Daeqwon Plowden, who put up 13 points in the first quarter.
By halftime, Plowden would lead the game with 17 points, and alongside him as double digits were teammates Max McClung (15) and reigning G League MVP Trevelin Queen (11), who was just named Player of the Week.
Dominance would continue for the Magic in the second half as the team would increase its lead in flashy fashion, with McClung throwing down a reverse slam dunk in the third quarter.
McClung would finish as the game's leading scorer with 28 total points on the night and was one of five Magic players to score in the double digits, with Plowden (25) and Queen (20) also scoring at least 20 points on the night.
Osceola is one of the hottest teams in the G League right now and has begun to assert itself as one of the best team's in the league overall during that span. The team will now take a break and pick up back at home on Dec. 5 against the Texas Legends (2-6).
