Orlando Magic Grab Win vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The Orlando Magic is staying in the win column after a 102-97 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Magic started off hot and grabbed an early lead, taking a eight-point advantage into the locker room.

In the second half, the Blazers made a push, but it wasn't enough to overtake the Magic. The Blazers challenged for a lead late, trailing by just two points early in the fourth quarter, but the Magic was able to pull it out.

Franz Wagner led the way with 23 points on 6 of 16 shooting from the field. Cole Anthony also continued his hot start by scoring 18 points off the bench. Moe Wagner also played a strong game, going 8 of 8 from the field off the bench and scoring 19 points.

For the Blazers, second-year pro Shaedon Sharpe started for the injured Orlando native Anfernee Simons and scored a game-high 24 points. Malcolm Brogdon also added 18 points off the bench, while Jerami Grant and Deandre Ayton joined them in double figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

The Magic is now 2-0 and one of five teams to win its first two games of the season through four nights of play. The victory kicks off a four-game road trip for Orlando.

The Magic continues its road trip and hopes to remain unbeaten when it plays the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. Tipoff is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on Bally Sports Florida and NBA League Pass.
