Orlando Magic Veteran Joe Ingles Feels 'Energized' By Young Teammates
The Orlando Magic has one of the youngest rosters in the entire NBA, and the team's veteran forward Joe Ingles says that having such a youthful team gives a guy like him some much-needed energy.
Ingles appeared on a recent episode of Orlando Magic Pod Squad and talked about the upsides of having such a young group of guys, as well as the chemistry that the Magic has.
"When you're hanging around with a younger group, it energizes you," Ingles said. "I’ve really enjoyed this year with the guys… it’s such a fun group to be around... We have a really good of guys that get along and have a good time together."
Whenever Jamahl Mosley became the head coach of the Magic, he instilled his philosophy of consistency right away. The team has not made any big trades or free agency moves the past few seasons, because it wants to keep the same core group of guys and let them grow and mature together.
This is in contrast to what a lot of teams are doing now, as they are making team-altering trades every other season. The youth of the Magic has led the team to a top-five seed in the Eastern Conference, and if the team can continue a high level of play, it could sneak into the top three.
The Magic will be back in action tonight on the road against the Charlotte Hornets. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Spectrum Center.
