Magic Signing Joe Ingles: 'Biggest Win' of Offseason?

The Orlando Magic signed 35-year-old forward Joe Ingles to a two-year, $22 million contract earlier this month.

Among the Orlando Magic's biggest needs this offseason was leadership and three-pointing shooting.

And the front office acquired both of those by signing forward Joe Ingles earlier this month.

Ingles, 35, signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Magic after spending the previous season on the Milwaukee Bucks

Bleacher Report recently listed the eight-year NBA veteran signing as the Magic's "biggest win" of the offseason.

"He'll keep the ball moving on this young Magic team, making sure everyone gets involved while opening up the floor with his own outside shooting," Bleacher Report writes.

Despite seeing a dip in production for the 58-win Bucks last season, Ingles has proven his ability to make an impact from beyond the arc where he's posted a career mark of 40.8 percent mark, while also dishing out 3.7 assists per contest.

And for a team that ranked No. 24 in the league in three-pointers made and percentage, the addition of somebody such as Ingles - who doesn't the ball in his hands to make an impact - should only be a positive for this young core.

Along with his impact on the court, the leadership from the Australian will only bolster the maturity in this Magic locker room that showed at times its lack of that older voice last season.

After starting the year 5-20, Orlando went from the start of December playing nearly .500 basketball. Now with an improved nucleus of Ingles, Jett Howard and Anthony Black, there very well could be a new playoff team in the East this season.
