Orlando Magic PF Jonathan Isaac on Health: 'Sky's The Limit'

Jonathan Isaac has played in just 11 games for the Orlando Magic since 2020.

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic is back at training camp this week with a fully healthy roster ... and that may not excite anyone more than Jonathan Isaac.

"That's fantastic," Isaac said. "I don't even have the words. It's like I've been preparing mentally throughout this entire process of getting hate coming back. So I feel like I'm strong there and now that the body is where it needs to be. Sky's the limit."

Isaac has seen far more of the sideline than the court in the past three years, playing seldom since August 2020. Those games came this past season after a slew of injuries, including a torn ACL, meniscus and hamstring issue.

After returning to action, Isaac played in just 11 games before hitting the sideline again with a torn left adductor muscle. Luckily for Isaac, he was able to heal from his injury shortly after the season ended and was able to train all offseason without any limitations.

"Honestly, you know, the injury was only six weeks," Isaac said. "And so from the time of me getting the surgery and everything, it was six weeks, and I was back running. And you know, for the last month and a half, I would say I've been playing with the guys running up and down the floor."

Isaac is expected to play a key role in the frontcourt, especially on the defensive end, as he looks to help bring the Magic back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

"To have gone a whole summer of being able to play and being able to bang, I feel better now than I did in those stint of 10-11 games," Isaac said. "I'm excited, I'm ready. The team is ready."

Isaac will make his preseason debut on Tuesday when the team visits the New Orleans Pelicans. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
