Orlando Magic 'Making Progress' in Preseason
The Orlando Magic, after taking a win against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, is 2-0 in the preseason after forward Franz Wagner and the long bench held by head coach Jamahl Mosley led the team to its second win of the month.
"It feels really good that we're making progress and that we're applying the stuff we talk about in film sessions or in practices," said Wagner in the postgame interview. "I think there's even been an improvement [physically] from the first game, so I think that's really cool for us."
Wagner only missed one shot in the performance, shooting 6-7 in the 19 minutes he had on the court, while his brother Moe Wagner scored 14 points as the second-leading scorer behind his younger sibling. Point guard Markelle Fultz also picked up 13 points in the close game.
"[Beating ourselves] is one of the big things from last year that we need to get better at, so it's definitely a good start," Wagner said. "I think that's something we've got to continue to focus on without taking away from how we want to play...getting out in transition and stuff like that. I thing there's always a bounds for stuff like that, but its definitely a good start for us."
The Magic will head back home now to host the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday at Amway Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and can be watched on Bally Sports Florida or NBA League Pass if you are out of market.
