The Orlando Magic added another piece to their backcourt by taking Michigan guard Jett Howard with the No. 11 pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday night.

With Howard, Sports Illustrated says that Orlando will be getting a prospect that can shoot and defend at a high level.

"A projected 3-and-D prospect, Howard is extremely versatile on both ends of the floor," SI writes. "He’s got a good balance of size, defensive upside and shooting touch that should translate well at the next level. He’s really not an elite athlete but has an NBA build already."

Jett, who is the son of Michigan head coach Juwan Howard, averaged 14.2 points per game and led the team in 3-pointers made with 78.

The pick also continues a pipeline between Orlando and Michigan. The Magic took Franz Wagner at No. 8 in the 2021 NBA Draft and Caleb Houstan with the No. 32 pick last year.

"It's like a brotherhood within Michigan," Howard said. "I'm just excited to be around people I'm comfortable with and I'm familiar with. I can't wait to get on the team and help."

Now, he'll take his talents to Orlando and join his Michigan brotherhood along with the rest of the Magic roster in hopes of winning a championship someday.
