Osceola Magic Loses 2nd Straight vs. Birmingham Squadron
Going up against the Birmingham Squadron in a rematch of Wednesday's contest, the Osceola Magic failed to avenge its loss from earlier in the week, losing in a last-second heartbreaker 122-119.
Welcome back, D.J. Wilson. In Wilson's second game with the Magic since returning from a hand injury, he made his presence felt from tipoff. Osceola's big man was held scoreless on Wednesday, but Friday night was a different story.
In the first half alone, Wilson was tied with Mac McClung for the title of leading scorer in the game at 14 points, but he also was making his presence felt on the defensive end by getting two steals and a block through two quarters to help give the Magic a 60-50 lead.
The second half would prove to be more competitive late in the game. It would take until the final minute of the fourth quarter when the Squadron would climb out of what was once an 18-point hole to take the lead 119-118.
However, Wilson would step up to the line and attempt two free throws down one point with 14.5 seconds in the game. Perhaps feeling the pressure of the moment, Wilson missed the first free throw but hit the second one after a stressful bounce fell his way to give him 32 total points on the evening.

Unfortunately, that wasn't where the Squadron gave up their fight. A three pointer just before the buzzer would give Birmingham back the lead and hand the Magic it’s second straight loss.
Tomorrow Osceola will play the México City Capitanes at 7 pm in Silver Spurs Arena and attempt to break a three game losing streak at home before the G League Winter Showcase.
