Magic PF Paolo Banchero Explains How Much All-Star Jersey Means
Paolo Banchero was named to his first NBA All-Star Game this year, and hopefully there are a lot more in his future.
Ahead of the Orlando Magic's last game against the New York Knicks, Banchero was presented with his All-Star jersey by head coach Jamahl Mosley and Magic president Jeff Weltman.
"It was special, just to be able to share it with the coaches, the teammates, and just with the fans and the city in general," Banchero said. "You know, I think it’s just an exciting time for everybody right now. I think we’re just on the incline right now, on our way up. I think that’s just a testament to that and, yeah, it’s just a blessing."
Banchero is averaging 23 points on some great shooting percentages, and also hauls in just under seven rebounds per game as well. The young star has improved a lot from his rookie year, as he is involved in every part of the game, and is key to the Magic winning games.
Dennis Scott to Magic: 'Take Care' of Paolo Banchero
He is the first Magic player to be named an All-Star since Nikola Vucevic in the 2021-21 season, and there is a good chance that this is the first of many selections. And hopefully, if Banchero continues to improve, he will become an All-Star starter in the coming years.
Banchero will play for the Eastern Conference All-Star team on Sunday in the big event of All-Star weekend. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
