Magic PG Markelle Fultz 'Perfect' in Win vs. Pistons

Markelle Fultz made all eight of his shots in the Orlando Magic's win against the Detroit Pistons.

ORLANDO - Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz couldn't miss against the Detroit Pistons.

The former No. 1 overall pick was a perfect 8 of 8 from the field in Orlando's 113-91 victory against Detroit on Sunday night, becoming the 10th player in franchise history to be perfect from the field with at least eight shot attempts.

But even after a "perfect" performance, Fultz sees areas of improvement in his game.

"I'm not really worried about makes or misses," Fultz said postgame. "There's other areas that I wish I could've been better at tonight, especially with that second unit; you know, all those turnovers. Trying to control that but end-all, be-all, all I care about is a win, so I'm happy that we got the win."

Fultz has had an up-and-down season filled with injuries, but as the team approaches the final quarter of the season, he is building momentum as he looks to contribute for the Magic in the playoffs.

Normally seen as the starting point guard, Fultz has come off the bench the past three games to ease himself back into the mix, and coach Jamahl Mosley has been pleased with the results.

"I thought he was great, I thought he pushed the pace at the right time," Mosley said of Fultz's performance. "He was able to get below the defense, the guys found him for finishing around the basket. He just kept coming at them and I thought that was great for him with that unit."

Jalen Suggs: 'What We're Building Here is Special'

While it remains to be seen what Fultz's role exactly will be for the final 20 or so games and the postseason, he is going to be valuable for the Magic. If he plays well, it makes Orlando that much more dangerous as a team.

Fultz and the Magic play tomorrow night against the Charlotte Hornets. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
