Orlando Magic Playing 'The Right Way' in Win vs. Milwaukee Bucks
ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic put a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks behind it and picked up possibly its best win of the season, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 112-97 at the Amway Center.
The win helped the Magic to avoid a three-game losing streak and stay above .500 after falling to the Hawks and Dallas Mavericks.
"I think it just continues to show growth and we talked about it before the game you know though we didn't like the outcome and Mexico City," Mosley said. "There's things that you can show on film that you learn from, and that's what these guys did. They didn't panic. They didn't overreact to anything. They just continue to play the right way. And then getting stops was the most important piece of what we needed to do tonight."
Orlando went 30 of 35 from the free throw line as a team, not leaving many points on the board while Milwaukee missed 13 free throws. The Magic also grabbed 10 more offensive rebounds while having three less turnovers.
Star forward Paolo Banchero had an impressive all-around performance for Orlando, leading the team in the three main statistical categories. He finished the game with 26 points, 12 rebounds and five assists along with a steal and two made threes. The Wagner brothers also contributed heavily, combining to go 15-for-25 from the field for 43 points and 10 rebounds.
Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 35 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and two blocks but Milwuakee couldn't keep up with the Magic. Orlando was in control for most of the game, leading at the end of each quarter and at one point getting out to a 21-point lead.
The Magic's win moved Orlando into a tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and both teams left the game with a 5-4 record on the season.
Orlando couldn't have asked for a better result heading into its first In-Season Tournament game of the year. The Magic will be traveling to Brooklyn to take on the Nets on Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. to start group play.
