Magic Record Projection: Best Season in Over a Decade?

The Orlando Magic are 30-25 at the All-Star Break. Where will they finish at season's end?
In this story:

ORLANDO - The Orlando Magic are close to returning to the court for the final stretch of their season, which features the easiest strength of schedule in the NBA.

This presents a prime opportunity for the Magic to climb up the standings, where they currently sit at No. 8 in the Eastern Conference. However, just 0.5 game separates them from the Indiana Pacers at No. 6, and only three games mark the difference between them and the fourth-place New York Knicks.

Bleacher Report suggests that the Magic will finish with a 46-36 record, which would mark the most wins in a season for them since the 2010-11 campaign.

"Orlando's offensive inconsistency cuts into the club's margin for error, but its fifth-ranked defense helps raise the floor. The Magic don't have enough firepower to climb toward greatness, but with their ability to get stops and generate takeaways (second in opponents' turnovers), they should always land between rock-solid and pretty good," Bleacher Report writes. "And it's not like they're hopeless on offense. Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner are two of the best focal-points-in-training this league has. Each can create something out of nothing—for themselves or their teammates."

Magic 'Not Satisfied' Despite Strong Start to Season

Sitting at 30-25 with 27 games to go, 18 of the contests remaining come against teams with worse records than the Magic. And out of the nine games that are against teams with better records than Orlando, three of those close out the season when teams are usually gearing up for the playoffs.

This means that the Magic are essentially in control of their own destiny. If they are able to take advantage of what's in front of them, they will be in a great spot come time for the postseason.
