Should Magic Sign Nets SG Seth Curry?

Seth Curry enters free agency after his season with the Brooklyn Nets ended on a sour note. Could the Orlando Magic be his next home?

The Brooklyn Nets are joining the Orlando Magic on the couch after being swept by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs.

Now, the Nets can focus on the offseason where they can reflect and figure out the next steps of the franchise after trading away Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in the middle of the season.

Among the decisions the Nets will have to make in the offseason is whether or not to sign veteran sharpshooter Seth Curry.

Curry, who turns 33 this summer, is entering free agency after making just over $8 million and averaging 9.2 points this past season with the Nets. Even though he is getting older, Curry is still a strong shooter from distance, something the Magic could use more of.

The Magic finished 24th in the league in three-point percentage and could use a few more long-distance shooters, preferably with the type of experience Curry has.

Another reason why the Magic makes sense as a destination for Curry is his previous working relationship with head coach Jamahl Mosley. Curry played some of the best basketball of his career with Mosley on the bench, averaging 12.6 points while shooting over 43 percent from three in two separate stints with the Dallas Mavericks.

Curry would be fighting for playing time in a crowded backcourt with Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony and Gary Harris, but his three-point prowess should be enough for the Magic to consider signing him and playing him as a much-needed depth piece.
