Magic Star Paolo Banchero Joins LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Luka Doncic in Rare Stat
The Orlando Magic had its first All-Star since Nikola Vucevic in 2019, as Paolo Banchero has been stellar ever since being drafted in 2022.
The team has won three games in a row, and it is due in no small part to the great play of the first time All-Star. He is in a club consisting of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Luka Doncic, and he talked more about it in his postgame interview on Sunday.
"It's kind of crazy hearing that but I think when I first got here, I wanted to just win," Banchero said. "I think that was the biggest part. Doing whatever it takes to win and just playing and having fun with these guys. You know, they're always encouraging me to be aggressive, do me, and so whenever I hear that, I'm always on go."
Banchero is one of only four players in the last 40 years to have career averages of 20+ PTS, 6+ REBS and 4+ ASTS at age 21-or-younger, joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
Magic Complete Perfect Homestand in Rout vs. Pistons
The 21-year-old is one of the most complete players in the league, as he is able to do just about everything on the floor. Banchero will be a huge part of what the Magic do for years to come and could be key in the team making noise in the playoffs at the end of the year.
Banchero and the Magic will be back in action on Tuesday on the road against the Charlotte Hornets. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET in the Spectrum Center.
