NBA Trade Idea: Wizards PG Tyus Jones to Magic?

The Orlando Magic drafted Anthony Black with the No. 6 pick in June's NBA Draft, but could another backcourt piece be incoming?
In this story:

The Orlando Magic have not been shy about its willingness to play positionless basketball. However, could it be in the market for another playmaker to this already young and talented backcourt?

After adding Arkansas point guard Anthony Black to the mix in June's NBA Draft, the 6-7 playmaker joins the likes of Markelle Fultz (25), Cole Anthony (23) and Jalen Suggs (22) - each of which coming off career years.

But in a trade proposed by Bleacher Report, the Magic would send forwards Jonathan Isaac, Chuma Okeke, and Detroit's 2026 second-round pick to the Washington Wizards for Tyus Jones and Mike Muscala.

"Orlando, for its part, might shy away from adding another guard," Bleacher Report writes. "But Jones offers enviable game management and has shot 36.9 percent from deep over the past two seasons. He can elevate the Magic's half-court offense, without torpedoing the defense, while playing alongside Markelle Fultz, Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black or, at times, even Cole Anthony."

Jones, 27, would not only immediately become this Orlando backcourts'  most experienced player, but the entire team as well. An eight-year veteran, the 2015 first round pick posted a career-high in points (10.3) last season for the Memphis Grizzlies while shooting 37.1 percent from three on 4.1 attempts per game.

And while plugging in another point guard could create an early season log-jam, Orlando's early stages with Black have shown the versatility this lineup can place with.
