Magic Starting 5: Tyler Herro Trade Idea

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has been in trade rumors all summer long, and an idea to be dealt to the Orlando Magic has been proposed.
In this story:

1. TYLER HERRO TRADE? "Herro would provide a big lift on both fronts while also taking some attention away from Wagner and Banchero with his live-dribble passing and movement shooting," Bleacher Report writes.

2. MAGIC JACKPOT "Orlando hit the jackpot," CBS Sports writes. "As a duo, these guys averaged over 38 points per game last season, and they haven't even scratched the surface of their potential, individually or as a tandem."

3. BANCHERO BEAST "The 6-10 forward has found ways to be efficient in a role that he simply won't see while in the NBA. With the Magic, things run through him and he is the focal point offensively. For Team USA, he's able to scale back his role and play a game that allows him to be impactful in other avenues of the game."

4. BIG SWING COMING? "The Magic can make their big free-agent swing in either 2024 or 2025 depending on who hits the open market and shows interest in joining their franchise," The Athletic writes.

"Even if we pick up all of their rookie-scale options plus Caleb Houstan’s non-guarantee, they only have $55 million in committed salary and thus could open up around $45 million to $80 million depending on a ton of variables: their restricted free agents Cole Anthony and Chuma Okeke; whether they pick up non-guarantees on Jonathan Isaac, Joe Ingles and/or Moritz Wagner; and the unrestricted free agency of Markelle Fultz and Gary Harris. That would open up a lot of holes to fill, and the 2024 free-agent guard class looks frustratingly weak, but it could be a huge offseason in Orlando."

5. NOT YOUR AVERAGE SHOOTER "Orlando Magic guard Jett Howard is not your average 3-point shooter, and he could prove to be a difference maker for them this season."
