'Young and Hungry' Orlando Magic Praised by Memphis Grizzlies' Luke Kennard
The Orlando Magic was able to snap its three-game losing streak with a win at home in its last game against the injury-ridden Memphis Grizzlies.
The Magic won in a blowout 118-88 win, as it was truly able to play as a unit. Grizzlies shooting guard Luke Kennard talked about how he feels about the Magic and its current situation in his postgame interview.
"I was talking to some guys as soon as we got in here about them... I really think they have a solid young core," Kennard said. "They have a couple vets over there that are a really good presence for them. They got really good young players. That is big in this league. They have gotten better over the last couple of years. Development is key and I think they have a chance to be a real special team... I have seen them playing in big time games and making a run into the playoffs. It is exciting for the NBA to have a team like that that is young and hungry, and will continue to get better."
The Magic had three players tied for leading scorer with only 15 points, as the team had seven players that scored in double-digits. Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, and Wendell Carter Jr. all tied for the team;s keading scorer, but this game was more about a team effort than an individual performance.
The Magic has just seven games remaining in the regular season, and these last few contests could prove to be very important. If the team can finish hot, then it coiuld move up in the Eastern Conference standings, which would put the team in a great spot for the playoffs.
The Magic will be back in action on Monday at home against the Portland Trail Blazers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
