The Orlando Magic is returning home after an arduous road trip that saw Orlando lose three of four games. They return home to take on the Philadelphia 76ers and reigning MVP Joel Embiid, which is never an easy task.

The Magic has lost to the 76ers already this season, by 20 on the road. After a demoralizing loss to the Atlanta Hawks, the Magic is in dire need of a win to get their mojo back. For better and for worse, some players have found new confidence.

The Magic will be without Franz Wagner and Gary Harris, while the Sixers are shorthanded, with Kenneth Lofton Jr., Mo Bamba, Robert Covington, and De’Anthony Melton all out. Jaden Springer is questionable.

While the Magic is running cold, the Sixers have won three games in a row, including a statement win over the Denver Nuggets. Before tipoff, keep it posted here for our three best bets, powered by SI Sportsbook.

The Lines

Point spread: 76ers -5.5 (-110)/Magic +5.5 (-110)

Moneyline: 76ers (-222)/Magic (+175)

Over/under: 222.5

Our Picks

Safe pick: Jalen Suggs OVER 11.5 points (-125)

Jalen Suggs posted 16 points in his last game but has been fairly quiet on offense before that. However, he lit up the 76ers for 20 points in his last game against Philadelphia and will excel against the lack of perimeter defense that Philly brings to the table. His three-point percentage has remained relatively stagnant, moving between 37 and 39 percent throughout the year, so the Sixers will need to lock both him and Paolo Banchero up all night.

Opponent pick: Joel Embiid OVER 32.5 points (-133)

Embiid is making a run at winning MVP again this season, leading the league in points for the third straight year with a career-high 35.1 points per game. Over his last ten games, he has boosted that to 38.3 points per game, and the mighty Orlando defense simply cannot space the floor or overpower him down low. His reworked midrange jump shot has been deadly, and he can step back behind the arc to knock down three balls. Take his over, it’s rare you see his line this low.

Team pick: Magic +5.5 (-110)

As much as we’d like to tell you to take the money line, the Magic haven’t been playing winning basketball. They did all they could on the defensive side against the Hawks, but their offense was completely stagnant. Against a Finals hopeful tonight, the Magic will have to play out of their minds at home. Expect them to keep it close, they are well-rested and happy to be back in Orlando, but the Sixers are clearly the better team.
