BREAKING: Mavs Star Luka Doncic Signs Contract Extension with Jordan Brand

After signing a contract extension, there will be many more versions of Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic's signature shoe with Jordan Brand hitting sneaker store shelves for the foreseeable future.
In this story:

Ahead of the FIBA World Cup, where Luka Doncic and the Slovenian national team will attempt to outperform their No. 8 standing in the current power rankings, the Dallas Mavericks star has taken care of some big-time sneaker business before hitting the court.

According to Marc Stein, Doncic has signed a contract extension with Jordan Brand to extend the partnership through 2029.

"Dallas Mavericks star Luka Dončić has signed a contract extension with Jordan Brand, according to industry sources," Stein wrote.

"The deal, sources say, will continue Dončić's run as a leading face for the shoe powerhouse through 2029. The Slovenian has achieved All-Star and All-NBA status in each of the past four seasons with the Mavericks and became Jordan Brand's first European born-and-raised signature athlete in 2019."

Doncic's Jordan "Luka 1s" were a major hit, and the recently released "Luka 2s" seem to be well on track to being a mainstay in players and fans' shoe lineup as well. The Jordan Luka 2 'Nebula' and 'Matador' shoes have already been released, and the next one, named 'Lake Bled,' are set to release on Sept. 14 for the price of $140.

Doncic's shoes might not ever reach the same level Jordan's got to, but one thing is for sure, they're comfortable, they're popular, and there will be many more of them coming in the near future.
