BREAKING: Mavs Ex Adrian Griffin Fired By Bucks

Adrian Griffin, who played two seasons for the Dallas Mavericks, was fired by the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

In a shocking move, the Milwaukee Bucks fired head coach Adrian Griffin on Tuesday.

Griffin was in his first season as the Bucks' head coach, and his team was 30-13 through 43 games and is currently second in the Eastern Conference, only trailing the Boston Celtics (34-10).

Griffin's 43-game tenure is tied for the third-shortest in NBA history with Rudy Tomjanovich. Bob Weiss with the Seattle Supersonics (30 games) and Jerry Tarkanian with the San Antonio Spurs (20 games) are the only coaches with shorter tenures in the NBA.

In the wake of Milwaukee firing Griffin, ESPN"s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Joe Prunty has been named the interim coach. He also reported that the Bucks are interested in hiring longtime head coach Doc Rivers.

Before briefly being the Bucks' coach, Griffin was an assistant with the Toronto Raptors (2018-2023), Oklahoma City Thunder (2016-2018), Orlando Magic (2015-2016), Chicago Bulls (2010-2015) and Milwaukee (2008-2010).

Griffin played nine seasons in the NBA, including three with the Dallas Mavericks from 2001-2003 and the 2005-06 season. Griffin played in 184 games, 127 of which he started. He averaged 5.3 points and 3.2 rebounds across his three seasons in Dallas.
