DALLAS — The Dallas Mavericks and TEGNA have announced a new broadcasting deal for the 2023-24 NBA season. This agreement will enable fans in North Texas to watch 10 games for free over the air. In addition to these games, three national games on ABC will be broadcast, totaling 13 games to be aired on WFAA.

This partnership with TEGNA expands the Mavs' reach, making these games accessible to over three million households and more than seven million individuals in North Texas. The games will be broadcast live on WFAA and available via cable, satellite, and streaming services through WFAA’s broadcast distribution.

Mavs CEO Cynt Marshall emphasized the team's commitment to making games accessible, expressing excitement about collaborating with WFAA to entertain fans across North Texas.

“Providing access to games has always been our top priority,” Marshall said. “We are thrilled to work with WFAA to bring more fun and excitement to our MFFLs across North Texas.”

TEGNA's Senior Vice President of Media Operations and WFAA’s President and General Manager, Brad Ramsey, echoed this sentiment. He highlighted WFAA's 75-year tradition of broadcasting live local sports and expressed pride in partnering with the Mavs to bring these key late-season games to every fan in North Texas.

“We are very proud to partner with the Dallas Mavericks and to make these important late-season games available to every fan, and every household, in North Texas,” Ramsey said. “As WFAA celebrates 75 years, we’ve long been the home for live, local sports and local sports fans, and we look forward to cheering on the Mavs right alongside their fans and our viewers.”

This initiative is part of an agreement between the NBA and Diamond Sports Group, allowing local broadcasters to air a limited number of over-the-air games for the rest of the regular season.

The 10 additional games on WFAA will not be available on Bally Sports Southwest or the Bally Sports app. Bally Sports and the NBA’s national media partners will continue to air and stream all other remaining Mavs games as previously planned.
