In this story:

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks play host to the star-studded Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. It will be the Mavs’ second In-Season Tournament game, but it is the first one at home, so they will debut a new court and uniforms tonight.

The Mavs lost their second game of the season on Wednesday, falling to the Toronto Raptors at home, 127-116. Dallas jumped out to a six-point lead after the first quarter but was outscored by a combined 17 points in the second and third quarters, which led to the loss.

The Clippers are coming off their third-consecutive loss on Wednesday against the Brooklyn Nets, 100-93, as Los Angeles is struggling to find their rhythm after acquiring James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers.

Going into Friday night's matchup, Maxi Kleber is doubtful as he continues to deal with his right toe injury and rookie big man Dereck Lively II is questionable with a non-COVID illness, which caused him to miss Wednesday's game. For the Clippers, they'll be without center Mason Plumlee, who sprained his knee earlier this week.

Player Props / Our Picks

Luka Doncic O/U 17.5 Assists + Rebounds: Over

Over the years, Doncic has had his way with the Clippers, whether that comes in a regular season game or in a postseason matchup. Through eight games this season, Doncic has finished under 17.5 assists and rebounds in four games, including the last two. Look for Doncic to fill the stat sheet tonight. Take the over.

Grant Williams O/U 10.5 Points: Over

Grant Williams has proven to be a great acquisition for the Mavs so far this season with his efficient versatility on both ends of the floor. Williams is averaging a career-high 14.0 points per game while shooting an impressive, and also career-high, 52.9 percent from downtown. After an off night on Wednesday, look for Williams, who will most likely be defended by Russell Westbrook or James Harden, to bounce back on Friday.

Russell Westbrook O/U 1.5 3PM: Under

Through seven games this season, Westbrook is averaging 15.1 points while shooting 34.6 percent from 3-point range on just under four attempts per game while only making more than one 3-pointer twice. Take the under on Russ.

Prediction: While Dallas comes off a loss on Wednesday, the Clippers are riding a three-game losing streak after the addition of Harden. Look for the Mavs to bounce back while the Clips continue their skid. Take Dallas -1.5 at home.
