Mavs vs. Lakers Sunday Primetime Game Among Hottest NBA Ticket Prices

Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday at American Airlines Center, and fans will have to pay a pretty penny to attend.

As the Dallas Mavericks prepare to begin a six-game homestand on Thursday night against the San Antonio Spurs, expectations are high for this final 22-game push to end the season.

With those high expectations -- fueled by the Mavs pulling off a blockbuster trade for Kyrie Irving before the deadline a little more than two weeks ago -- comes higher ticket prices for fans, though.

Although Thursday's game against the Spurs won't be affected as much, Sunday's matinee game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will be a different story. The "get-in" price, according to Vivid Seats, is $296. For comparison, the "get-in" price for the game against San Antonio is $50.

Luka Doncic's Mavs vs. James' Lakers has always been must-watch basketball regardless of the teams' records. Doncic has always admired James, and James has routinely voiced how Doncic is his favorite young player in the league. But now, the intrigue gets taken up a notch, as Dallas has added James' former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate and champion in Irving.

Not to mention, the national media has rambled nonstop about James wanting Irving to sign with the Lakers this summer when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Whether Mavs fans like it or not, that appears to be a relentless storyline for at least the next four months.

For the week of Feb. 20, the Mavs vs. Lakers game ranks as the second-most expensive ticket on the market. The Golden State Warriors at the Lakers on Thursday has the highest minimum ticket price of $414 according to Vivid Seats.

Nothing can beat the live experience of attending a marquee NBA matchups ... but with those kind of price hikes, we can't blame fans if they end up wanting to watch the game on ABC instead.
