SACRAMENTO — The Dallas Mavericks are set to take on the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. It was unc to be seen if Luka Doncic will be available to play.

The Mavs submitted an injury report that lists Doncic as questionable due to left Achilles soreness. Maxi Kleber is also questionable with right knee soreness, while Josh Green remains sidelined with a right ankle sprain.

Doncic is coming off his 20th triple-double of the season, guiding the Mavs to a 115-105 victory over the Utah Jazz by recording 29 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds.

The Mavs enter a two-game mini-series against the Kings with an 0-2 record on the season series, meaning they have to win both games to avoid losing the tie breaker amid a tightly contested race for the sixth seed. Doncic conveyed the importance of these upcoming games.

“Very big games,” Doncic said. “It’s tough to play Sacramento. The crowd’s going, they got a lot of great players. It’s going to be a tough two games for sure. We got to stay together for 48 minutes and be physical.”

Doncic has averaged 34.0 points, 9.9 assists, and 9.0 rebounds in 62 games this season in what has been yet another historic campaign.

If Doncic is unable to play, Kyrie Irving will naturally step into the role of being the Mavs' top option. He recently stepped into that role in a 126-119 loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Irving finished with 36 points and 12 assists on the night.

When Irving has played without Doncic, he's averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 assists and 5.7 rebounds in six games this season.
