Dallas Mavs' Luka Doncic Ties James Harden on NBA's All-Time Triple-Double List
During the Dallas Mavericks' 130-104 blowout win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night, superstar Luka Doncic had history on his mind.
He started things off by breaking Mark Aguirre's franchise record for most points scored in a single season during the third quarter. Then, in the fourth quarter, Doncic secured the 77th triple-double of his career, tying him with James Harden for eighth all-time. Doncic is now just one triple-double from tying NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain, who finished his career with 78 triple-double.
Doncic put on a show for the Charlotte crowd, finishing with 39 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists while shooting 13-25 from the field.
With the win, the Mavs improved to 49-30 on the season and 24-15 on the road, putting their "magic number" for clinching a top-six seed in the Western Conference at one – meaning Dallas will clinch with either one more win or one more loss by either the New Orleans Pelicans or Phoenix Suns.
Unless something crazy happens, it's looking like the Mavs will open the postseason against the Los Angeles Clippers for the third time in five years. Stay tuned to DallasBasketball.com for more updates on Dallas' standing.
