Do Legends of 'Untucked Kyrie' and 'Luka Magic' Give Mavs Championship Blueprint?

Kyrie Irving's alter ego could be crucial for the Mavs post season hopes.
In this story:

Michael Jordan with his tongue out, Kobe Bryant biting his jersey, Steph Curry chewing his mouthpiece.

Those are some of the greatest NBA superhero personas in NBA history.

However, there is one NBA alter ego that might stand above all, and he is now on his way to the Dallas Mavericks - 'Untucked' Kyrie Irving.

It is unexplainable, inexplicable, and by all rights, should be studied by basketball scientists around the globe.

It is now a well-documented phenomenon. Particularly by Action Network NBA personality, Rob 'Wob' Perez, and yet, there is still no real explanation.

But, with the game on the line, when new Mavs guard Kyrie Irving's jersey comes untucked, he ostensibly turns into the NBA's version of The Legendary Super Saiyan.

As Wob points out, Irving was the artist behind the Cleveland Cavaliers' Game 7 win over the Golden State Warriors in 2016, hitting a game-winning 3 to bring home the title. He has also exhibited multiple career-defining performances, including two 40-point outbursts in the finals.

All, somehow, coinciding with his jersey coming untucked.

Don't believe us? Take a look:

And now, with the addition of Irving, the Mavericks have added Batman to their already existing Superman - Luka Doncic.

Meanwhile, Doncic has already cemented himself as arguably both the NBA's best and most clutch player in the 2022-23 season.

And he is, unmistakably, an MVP candidate heading into the All-Star Break.

So, with all of that in mind, the question is: If both Doncic and Kyrie are at their absolute best, is there a team that can hope to stop the NBA's new version of Batman/Superman: World's Finest?

If you look at Irving's history with LeBron James - the player that Doncic is now most often compared to - the answer is, most probably, no.

As with any NBA trade, there will be an adjustment period.

But if Doncic and Irving are able to summon their alter egos come playoff time, the rest of the NBA will be shaking in their proverbial boots.
