NBA Names Mavs' Luka Doncic as Western Conference Player of the Week
DALLAS — The NBA announced the Eastern and Western Conference Player of the Week award recipients for games played between Monday, February 5, and Sunday, February 11. Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was the choice for the West, while Donovan Mitchell was picked for the East.
While leading the Mavs to a 4-0 record during this stretch, Doncic averaged 31.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 1.8 steals in 37.5 minutes per game. He shot 51.3 percent from the floor and 44.2 percent from the perimeter. Each of Dallas' wins featured double-figure point differentials with a staggering average margin of victory of 21.8 points.
Doncic guided the Mavs to a sweep of a three-game East Coast road trip, including a performance with 39 points and 11 assists in 40 minutes in a 122-108 victory over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Other wins occurred against the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets during this road trip.
In the Mavs' return to American Airlines Center, Doncic recorded 32 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds in a 146-111 blowout victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Doncic didn't have to check back into the game in the fourth quarter.
Doncic has now won Player of the Week 11 times in his NBA career, which is the most of any player in the Western Conference over the last five seasons. He trails Dirk Nowitzki by five for the most of these honors in Mavs history.

Doncic has continued to provide the Mavs with dynamic play throughout the season, averaging 34.5 points, 9.4 assists, and 8.8 rebounds in 45 games, leading a 27-18 record when he's in the lineup. Since his historic Christmas Day performance against the Phoenix Suns, he's averaged 36.9 points, 9.9 assists, and 9.1 rebounds in 18 games, proving to continue to elevate his game.
