Mavs LISTEN: Dirk HOF Weekend Recap; NBA Schedule Info

On this episode of the Mavs Step Back Podcast, we recap Dirk Nowitzki’s glorious Hall of Fame weekend, as well as look ahead to the NBA schedule release … including some Dallas Mavericks games that have already leaked.
In this story:

This past weekend was a busy one, to say the least, as DallasBasketball.com traveled to Springfield, MA to take in Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame ceremony at Symphony Hall on Saturday night.

The star-studded night lived up to the hype, as there were current and former NBA greats everywhere you turned, and Nowitzki delivered an incredible speech acknowledging all the important people in his career and the qualities he learned from them.

On today’s episode of the Mavs Step Back Podcast, my co-host Drew Johnson and I recap all the events from Hall of Fame weekend, including the adrenaline of being on such a tight weekend schedule, the range of emotions that came with attendance Nowitzki’s ‘last big thing,’ Gregg Popovich, Dwyane Wade and Pau Gasol’s speeches, and much more.

From there, we take a detailed look at two Mavs games that have already leaked, as Luka Doncic and Dallas will take on Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs on Oct. 25 to open the season, then the Phoenix Suns in the desert for Christmas Day. Will Luka vs. Wemby reignite the Mavs/Spurs storied rivalry? Will Doncic and Kyrie Irving play the role of ‘The Grinch’ against Kevin Durant and Devin Booker?

The entire NBA schedule is expected to drop on Thursday, so stay tuned for a full breakdown of that when it happens. The league announced the Mavs’ In-Season Tournament group schedule on Tuesday after this podcast had already been recorded: Nov. 3 @ DEN (8:00 p.m. CST), Nov. 10 vs. LAC (7:30 p.m. CST), Nov. 14 @ NOP (7:00 p.m. CST), Nov. 28 vs. HOU (7:30 p.m. CST).

You can watch or listen to today’s episode here, and as always, thanks for tuning in:
