WATCH: Kyrie Irving Posts Triple-Double in Drew League Debut

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving made his Drew League debut on Saturday, and he didn’t disappoint, finishing with a triple-double and the win.

Although the NBA has officially reached the dead period of the offseason with Summer League out of the way, the association has truly become a year-round sport.

Dallas Mavericks fans will see superstar Luka Doncic and other players suit up for their respective countries in the FIBA World Cup starting at the end of August, and Saturday, they got to see their other superstar, Kyrie Irving put on a show in his Drew League debut.

Irving finished with a triple-double — 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists — as his team, Nationwide Souljas, defeated Cal Supreme, 84-73. And don’t let the final score fool you, as the game was a blowout until Cal Supreme made up some ground late in garbage time. You can watch the full highlights here:

Irving has had a busy offseason, as he signed a three-year, $126 million deal to stay with the Mavs in free agency, followed by signing a five-year deal with Chinese athletic wear brand ANTA, becoming their Chief Creative Officer. His official signature shoe line with ANTA is expected during the spring of 2024.

During 20 games with the Mavs last season, Irving averaged 27 points, five rebounds and six assists while shooting 51 percent from the field, 39.2 percent from deep and 94.7 percent from the free-throw line — and he did that while having a nagging plantar fasciitis injury as well.

With a full offseason to prepare and get fully healthy, expect Irving, Doncic and the rest of the Mavs’ revamped roster to be a lot better this coming season than we saw from February through April of this year.
