In this story:

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are home to host Walker Kessler, John Collins and the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

The Mavs are coming off a thrilling 126-120 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Dallas went on a 30-0 run late in the second half to cut into OKC's lead and jump ahead themselves before Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company bounced back and avoided a horrific loss. Doncic led the Mavericks with a heroic 36 points, 15 rebounds, and 18 assists in the loss.

The Jazz are coming off a 118-113 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday to snap a two-game skid. Utah was led by rookie Keyonte George, who finished with 21 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Going into Wednesday night's matchup, Dallas will be without Maxi Kleber (right toe) and Josh Green (right elbow) while Kyrie Irving (right foot), Grant Williams (right knee) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (back) are all questionable. For the Jazz, they’ll be without Jordan Clarkson (right thigh), Lauri Markkanen (left hamstring), and Kelly Olynk (right shoulder). … Whew.

Player Props / Our Picks

Luka Doncic O/U 32.5 Points: Over

Doncic is coming off his spectacular performance against the OKC Thunder on Saturday along with his 41-point effort over the Houston Rockets in the game before. With an undermanned Jazz roster and Dallas potentially without Irving and THJ, look for Doncic to keep the hot hand going.

Luka Doncic O/U 1.5 Steals: Over

On the season, Doncic is averaging 1.3 steals per game. Over the last five games, Doncic has at least two steals in each contest. And going up against a Jazz team who commits the most turnovers per game in the league, that streak might just continue on Wednesday.

John Collins O/U 23.5 Points + Rebounds: Over

In his first season in Utah, John Collins is averaging 14.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. With Markkanen and Clarkson out of the lineup, Collins could be the No. 1 option for the Jazz in Wednesday night's contest. Not to mention… Collins has historically tortured Dallas when he was a member of the Atlanta Hawks. Take the over.

Prediction: As noted above, with such a shorthanded Jazz roster and the Mavs coming off that disappointing loss to the Thunder, look for Doncic and company to bounce back on Wednesday. Take Dallas -9.5.
