NBA Trade Rumors: Mavs Want Both Bojan & Bodgan Bogdanovic?

More rumors are popping up with less than a week remaining until the NBA trade deadline. In one of the latest ones, the Dallas Mavericks have been linked to Detroit Pistons' Bojan Bogdanovic yet again, as well as Atlanta Hawks' Bogdan Bogdanovic.

In what was a crazy Friday for the Dallas Mavericks after being linked as one of the more serious trade suitors for Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving – you can read more about Dallas' mechanics and motivation behind its pursuit of Irving here – more rumors have surfaced with the NBA trade deadline just six days away.

In a report from Yahoo! Sports, Vincent Goodwill, reaffirmed the Mavs' interest in Irving while also linking them to both Bojan Bodganovic and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Would the Dallas Mavericks take Irving? “Yes,” high-ranking officials with knowledge of the Mavericks’ plans said in texts to Yahoo Sports multiple times Friday afternoon.

They also want Bojan Bogdanovic from Detroit and Bogdan Bogdanovic from Atlanta — they’re desperate and determined to get help for Luka Doncic before he passes out from exhaustion in carrying that franchise.

Dallas has been linked to the Detroit Pistons' Bogdanovic several times over the last month, but this might be the first time it's been directly mentioned in connection to the Atlanta Hawks' Bogdanovic. The Mavs have also been in John Collins rumors as well, which makes the prospect of potentially adding Bogdan even more intriguing.

Although the Mavs have limited trade assets with their 2023 first-round pick still being owed to the New York Knicks, the urgency to make win-now moves has increased due to the facts that 1) Luka Doncic is having an all-time season with averages of 33 points, nine rebounds and eight assists per game, and 2) despite the current roster's talent limitations, the Mavs still find themselves in fourth-place in the West with 29 games to play in the 2022-23 season.

When you have a young MVP-caliber player like Doncic, you want to take every opportunity possible to prove to him that you're willing to go all out to become a championship contender ... even if that means a certain level of risk is involved.
